We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our growing multi-location medical practice. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of claims, follow-up on unpaid claims, and maximizing reimbursement while maintaining compliance with all payer guidelines.
Submit and manage insurance claims (electronic and paper) in a timely manner. Review and correct claim errors prior to submission. Follow up on denied, rejected, or unpaid claims with insurance companies. Post insurance payments, adjustments, and patient payments accurately. Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits when needed. Work aging reports and prioritize high-value accounts. Identify trends in denials and recommend process improvements. Communicate with front desk, coding team, and providers to resolve billing issues. Ensure compliance with payer regulations, including Medicare and commercial plans. Assist with patient billing inquiries and payment plans as needed.
Qualifications include a minimum of 2+ years of medical billing experience, preferably in interventional radiology specialty, strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding, experience with Medicare and commercial payers, familiarity with EDI transactions, EMR/PM systems, and a strong understanding of claim denials and appeals process.
Preferred qualifications: experience in interventional pain management, vascular, or surgical specialties; knowledge of prior authorizations and predeterminations; familiarity with clearinghouses and payer portals such as Availity and NGSConnex.
