We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare team. You will manage the entire billing process, ensuring accurate coding, timely submission of claims, and effective follow-up on outstanding accounts. This role helps optimize revenue cycles and improve patient satisfaction through clear communication and precise documentation.
Responsibilities include reviewing and interpreting medical records to assign ICD-10 diagnosis codes, CPT procedure codes, and DRG classifications for hospital billing. Prepare and submit clean claims using EMR/EHR systems, ensuring insurance compliance. Follow up on unpaid or rejected claims with collection strategies including resubmission and appeals. Verify patient insurance coverage, benefits, and eligibility before billing. Maintain accurate medical records and collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify diagnoses or procedures. Stay current with medical coding standards including ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG.
Preferred experience includes prior medical billing or coding in healthcare, strong knowledge of medical terminology, EMR/EHR proficiency, and familiarity with ICD and CPT coding principles. Excellent communication skills for interacting with insurance companies, providers, and patients are essential.

- Prior experience in medical billing or coding within a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare documentation standards.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems used for billing and record keeping.
