The Medical Billing Supervisor oversees billing and collection of third-party payer claims, supervises billing department staff, coordinates daily workflows, and ensures effective training and performance management.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage insurance billing functions and payment applications.
- Improve billing processes and efficiency.
- Conduct data analysis to identify and resolve billing issues.
- Provide training and evaluate billing staff.
- Prepare and analyze departmental reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations.
- Collaborate with finance and other departments to meet goals.
The role requires on-site presence in Carlsbad Monday through Thursday; candidates must live within commuting distance.
- At least 2 years supervising in a healthcare business office environment preferred.
- Experience in billing, revenue cycle management, project management, or office management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of billing software, ERP systems, and healthcare billing regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage stress and maintain professionalism.
- Knowledge of third-party denials and denial process SOPs.
- Ability to coach, mentor, and motivate staff effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
