Patient Accounts Representative responsible for billing insurance claims and collecting third-party balances. Collaborates with team members to gather and process billing and collection data, ensuring accurate and timely billing of problem accounts.
Key duties include billing accounts promptly, identifying and communicating billing problems, resolving problem accounts independently, managing workload to meet deadlines, staying updated on regulatory changes, communicating professionally with insurance payers, maintaining transaction records, protecting confidentiality of financial and medical information, and troubleshooting patient concerns. Participates in safety and training programs, performance improvement projects, and fulfills special assignments.
Requirements:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask
- Knowledge of insurance billing (EPIC experience preferred)
- Basic math skills
Education:
- High school diploma with emphasis on business courses
