We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for submitting medical claims to insurance companies and ensuring timely reimbursement. The hours are Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.
Duties include:
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and correct errors
- Prepare and submit claims using platforms such as Simple Practice, Availity, Blue Cross
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard timeframes
- Utilize medical coding to ensure compliance with federal regulations
- Process payments from insurance companies and patients
- Resolve billing issues and appeals with insurers
- Verify eligibility and benefits
Requirements:
- Proven experience in medical billing or related field
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG coding
- Strong knowledge of medical office procedures and insurance guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid requirements
- Credentialing experience
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
- Knowledge of CPT coding
