The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for the accurate data entry of patient demographic information into the electronic medical record system and collection system, if needed, and all payment types into the billing system. Additional duties include following up on all addendums, mass approving all electronic claims, and submitting all electronic claims daily. The role also assists with patient statements and accounts receivable.
Essential functions include preparing and submitting clean claims electronically or by paper to various insurance companies, sending patient statements, and maintaining strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Minimum of 2-5 years experience in healthcare billing required. Experience in physical therapy billing is a plus. Knowledge of Medicaid and private pay processes preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Proficient in computer systems; experience with EMR or billing software is a plus. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
