We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes and terminology to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for services provided.
Duties include reviewing and verifying accuracy of billing data, preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies, following up on unpaid claims, resolving billing issues and discrepancies, maintaining patient billing records, utilizing medical coding systems such as ICD-10, and collaborating with medical staff to clarify diagnosis or obtain additional information.
Skills needed are proficiency in medical billing, collections, and office procedures, knowledge of medical terminology and coding systems, familiarity with electronic health record systems, strong attention to detail and accuracy, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
The position is full-time and requires working in person at Lafayette, LA. Benefits include paid time off.
