Insight Carolinas, a mental health practice, located in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a part-time Billing and Insurance Specialist to join their team. The role is mostly remote with occasional office visits. Duties include verifying benefits, following up on claims, assisting with referrals, sending statements, and collections related to billing and insurance for a mental health practice.
This position offers an hourly rate between $19-$21 based on experience, with up to 5 days PTO for part-time staff. Full-time opportunities may include 401k, paid vacation, and insurance coverage.
Insight Carolinas specializes in psychological assessments and expanded to therapy services in 2024. The practice focuses on improving access to mental health care for individuals and families using private insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.
The team includes licensed psychologists, therapists, psychometrists, students, and administrative staff dedicated to expanding access to quality assessment and treatment services across the Carolinas.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- Some insurance and billing experience essential, preferably in mental health
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong perseverance in managing claims and denials
- Attention to detail with prioritization and deadline management
- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to assertively and respectfully interact with insurance representatives and clients
- Collaborative and able to work independently
