This is an in-office position (no remote work allowed). Responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing, assigning appropriate medical codes using ICD-10 and ICD-9, processing medical claims for insurance reimbursement, verifying patient insurance coverage, following up on unpaid claims, resolving billing discrepancies, and communicating with patients, providers, and insurance companies. Must maintain patient confidentiality and stay updated on coding guidelines and reimbursement policies.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or similar role
- Proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-10 and ICD-9 coding, and medical billing software
- Knowledge of medical collections and insurance claim processing
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with medical office procedures and documentation
