Due to growth, this multiple physician office is seeking to add another experienced and qualified Medical Billing Specialist. This fast-paced environment is perfect for someone looking for a challenge. The right candidate will be a self starter who has the ability to prioritize, adapt quickly to changes and work from the office (no remote work). This candidate should possess confidence in their abilities, is well organized, and have an exceptional ability to quickly switch away from and back to tasks.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Understanding of medical coding, reimbursement guidelines, and compliance regulations
- Review physician charges for accuracy in billing and coding
- Post physician charges for assigned practice locations
- Verification of patients insurance coverage and eligibility before charges are released
- Identify and correct potential errors in billing data before submitting claims to insurance companies
- Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with Revenue Cycle teams and leadership
- Be willing to cross-train and work with other Revenue Cycle teams
- Receives and responds to inquiries and complaints of company patients in a courteous, prompt and accurate manner, using positive human relations practices
Qualifications and Skills
- Epic experience required
- At least 3 years of A/R and Charge Entry experience
- Knowledge of and experience in coverage practices of and terminology used by, insurance payers, both commercial and governmental
- Knowledge of and experience in clinic business practices and informational flows
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Must be flexible, able to efficiently prioritize workload, and demonstrate awareness of the importance of interpersonal skills
