Lewin & Baglio LLP is a leading Medical Reimbursement Law firm in New York seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Workers’ Compensation Billing Legal Assistant. This key role involves managing and ensuring accuracy in legal billing processes related to workers’ compensation claims and No Fault cases, supporting legal teams while maintaining compliance with laws and regulations.
Key skills include Microsoft Excel, Outlook, medical billing knowledge, workers' compensation, No Fault, authorizations/variances, CMS 1500 forms, ICD-10/CPT codes, HIPAA, EHR/ERA systems, 837 file experience, and legal software such as Eclipse and EClinical Works.
Duties:
- Supervise preparation, review, and processing of legal workers’ compensation bills with compliance.
- Coordinate with attorneys, claims adjusters, and vendors to resolve billing discrepancies.
- Use legal research tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw for case support.
- Manage documentation and records of billing activities.
- Train and mentor staff on billing procedures and regulatory updates.
- Conduct audits of billing processes and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with legal teams on complex specialized legal cases.
Work is in-person at Westbury, NY; not remote. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with no weekends and one-hour lunch.
