The Eye Institute is seeking a dependable, team-oriented Biller/Claims Follow-Up Specialist responsible for working accounts receivable reports, reviewing denied and underpaid claims, correcting claims, and filing appeals. The role requires experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding, proper use of modifiers, and a clear understanding of insurance Explanation of Benefits (EOBs). The specialist will collaborate with physician offices and staff to obtain accurate billing information and assist with answering phones and communicating with staff and patients regarding accounts.
Minimum 3 years previous medical billing and claims follow-up experience is required. Candidates must have experience reading and understanding medical EOBs, modifiers, and coordination of benefits. Dependability and ability to meet deadlines are essential. Knowledge of insurance and billing policies for Medicare, Medicaid, Indian Health, and Commercial Insurance plans is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
