Role Responsibilities:
- Meet with residents and families to discuss financial obligations.
- Maintain daily census information for facility residents.
- Collect private balances owed to the facility.
- Prepare and charge appropriate pay sources monthly adhering to deadlines.
- Timely and thorough follow-up on all receivables including status updates and collection notes.
- Participate in aging reviews with management.
- Post payments promptly to resident ledgers.
- Maintain monthly bank reconciliation.
- Monitor resident ledger account accuracy continuously.
- Ensure resident funds comply with state and federal guidelines.
- Record and upload ancillary charges.
- Attend in-service programs, workshops, and meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a biller in a skilled nursing facility.
- Strong understanding of pay sources including Private Pay, Medicare, Medicaid, My Care Buckeye, Workers' Comp.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to discuss financial obligations.
- Experience with debt collection processes including dunning letters, liens, and estates.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with multitasking ability.
- Proficiency with Office 365 products including Teams, Excel and Word.
- Good general health and free of communicable diseases.
- Physical ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
