We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our healthcare team in person. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately billing patients and third-party payers, ensuring timely reimbursement for medical services provided.
Duties include reviewing and verifying accuracy of billing data and revising any errors; preparing and submitting claims to insurance companies; following up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe; utilizing medical coding to ensure compliance with federal regulations; maintaining patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations; processing payments from insurance companies and patients; resolving billing discrepancies; and communicating with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing issues.
Required experience includes proficiency in medical terminology, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG coding systems, experience in medical billing and collections, and knowledge of medical office procedures and practices.
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with electronic medical record systems.
