Medical Billing Specialist

This is a full-time position working a hybrid schedule with 1-2 days onsite Monday to Friday with hours between 7:00am and 5:00pm. There are no holiday, weekend, or on-call requirements.

Responsibilities include claims submission, insurance follow-up, posting insurance payments, reconciling and balancing accounts, preparing bank deposits, and handling direct patient and insurance company communications to resolve coverage or denial issues. Additional duties include auditing patient accounts, researching payments, submitting appeals for denied claims, preparing refunds, and maintaining accurate documentation.

Candidates should ensure compliance with insurance billing regulations and support organizational policies. Production standards and quality guidelines must be met. Establishing payment arrangements and preparing correspondence to patients or guarantors is expected.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical diploma in Medical Billing preferred.
  • No experience required; 1-3 years preferred, including experience with bundled claims.
  • Certification Preferred: Certified Patient Accounts Technician (CPAT) completion.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy in billing and documentation
  • Ability to meet production and quality standards
