The Billing Specialist is a detail-oriented person responsible for managing the billing process in an accurate and timely manner. This position will be responsible for addressing any billing inquiries from patients and insurance companies.
Responsibilities:
- Process and submit insurance claims accurately and on time.
- Receive and post payments from patients accurately.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility.
- Communicate with patients regarding billing questions and payment options.
- Maintain billing records, logs, and documentation.
- Collaborate with Practice Administrator and Clinical team to ensure proper coding of services.
- Assist in preparation of billing reports and audits as needed.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a medical office with CPT/ICD-10 coding and insurance guidelines, preferably in OB/GYN.
- Proficient in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Work Schedule:
- In person, Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm.
