This full-time, on-site role located in Greensboro, NC involves managing the billing process, preparing and sending invoices, collecting patient balances, and ensuring accuracy of client billing records. Tasks include maintaining financial records, resolving billing discrepancies, interfacing with insurance companies, collaborating with team members, and communicating with clients about billing inquiries.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret medical records to ensure accurate coding.
- Prepare and submit insurance claims electronically or via paper submissions per payer-specific guidelines.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility to facilitate claim processing.
- Submit pre-authorization requests through insurance.
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims via communication with insurance companies and patients.
- Maintain detailed medical billing records within EMR and EHR systems.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation discrepancies and improve coding accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, privacy laws, and billing standards managing sensitive medical records.
- Assist staff training on updated coding practices, billing procedures, and system functionalities to enhance performance.
Qualifications:
- Experience with insurance billing process and client billing.
- Proficiency in invoicing management.
- Strong communication skills for resolving inquiries and client support.
- Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles.
- Associate Degree required; additional medical billing certifications or related degrees a plus.
- Previous healthcare or service environment experience preferred.
