A fast-paced physician's office is looking for a full-time medical biller to join our team. This key position works all facets of our revenue cycle management including billing, claim submission, denial appeals, resolving unpaid medical claims, fee schedule management, and collections. The candidate will work closely with the practice manager to contribute to the overall growth of the practice. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys being challenged and working closely with providers in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities include thorough knowledge of the billing process with CPT-4, ICD-9, and ICD-10 coding, effective communication with patients and the healthcare team to explain billing procedures and insurance benefits, computer skills including Microsoft Office, experience with billing/collecting from Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans, and knowledge of insurance regulations and payer practices.
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, experience in a medical facility, excellent customer service skills, self-starter with positive attitude, organized with critical thinking and investigational skills, knowledge of third party payers and CPT, ICD-10, code modifiers, HCPCS codes, ERA and EOB analysis, payer-specific guidelines, health plan benefits understanding, and basic accounting knowledge.
