The Medical Biller supports PATHS’ mission by assisting patients and families in securing appropriate health coverage, resolving billing issues, and advocating for financial resources. This role ensures accurate documentation, compliance with HIPAA and healthcare regulations, and contributes to timely revenue recovery for PATHS’ provider clients across multiple states.
Key responsibilities include exporting, importing, and submitting claims between systems, performing medical billing collections and follow-ups, resolving insurance denials and underpayments, reviewing medical claims, identifying and resolving issues preventing claim resolution, documenting and entering data, and other assigned duties.
The position reports to the Billing Manager and runs Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM to 5 PM.

- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum 6 months of medical billing experience.
- Experience with EMR systems is required; Navinet, PEAR, Availity and/or EPIC experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of Medicaid.
- Understanding of Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and insurances.
- Familiarity with CPT, ICD-10, and UB-04 claim forms.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and research skills.
- Ability to meet productivity goals.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required.
Physical requirements include prolonged sitting and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be provided.
