Billing Supervisor

At Stress Care of New Jersey, we offer specialized services for mental health, physical, and substance use needs including psychiatric evaluations, medication management, various therapies, Primary Care for chronic conditions, Urgent Care, higher level care group programs, and case management/care coordination.

We are seeking a Medical Billing/Collections Supervisor responsible for supervising billing and collections activities to ensure accurate and timely processing of claims, organizing workflow, managing personnel and supplies, and performing hands-on billing duties as needed.

Key responsibilities include posting payments and denials, reviewing remittance advice, resolving claim delays, initiating charge entries and appeals, following up on claims, submitting medical claims electronically and by paper, resolving credit balances, verifying patient insurance, maintaining confidentiality, and providing excellent communication and organizational skills.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, a minimum of 3 years office experience preferably in the medical field, familiarity with Medicare and third-party payers, knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical billing terminology, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team. HIPAA confidentiality must be maintained at all times.

Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am-5pm.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years office experience, preferably in medical field
  • Experience with Medicare and third party payers
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical billing terminology
  • Working knowledge of word processing, billing, filing, and records management systems
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, attention to detail, decision-making and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality at all times
