Key duties include managing the full medical billing lifecycle, submitting and scrubbing electronic and paper claims, following up on unpaid, rejected, and denied claims, preparing appeals, posting payments, managing aging reports, analyzing EOBs, identifying billing trends and revenue leakage, collaborating with clinical teams to resolve documentation gaps, and ensuring compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines.

- 5+ years of medical billing experience
- Proven success in reducing accounts receivable days and increasing clean claim rates
- Experience in busy, high-volume revenue cycle departments
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Experience managing Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer claims
- Denial management and appeals expertise
- Ability to interpret payer contracts and reimbursement methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and follow-through
- Systems experience: Waystar, athenahealth, Palmetto GBA, Availity, Medicare MAC portals, Medicaid state portals, commercial payer portals, ERA systems
