As a Medical Billing Specialist - Medicaid, you will prepare, submit, and follow up on insurance claims to the state Medicaid program. Your responsibilities include verifying insurance coverage, processing claims according to FQHC, state, and federal requirements, reconciling payments, monitoring accounts receivable aging, resolving payment issues, and maintaining compliance with billing rules and HIPAA.

You will coordinate with internal teams and respond to inquiries from patients, providers, and insurance representatives.

Starting pay is $21.60 per hour, with increases based on experience in Federally Qualified Health Center billing.

Requirements & Qualifications

High School Degree or GED required. Successful completion of in-house training. Experience with healthcare billing preferred. Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance types. Understanding of medical and billing terminology. Strong analytical and time management skills. Proficiency in Excel, practice management systems, and Microsoft Teams.
