This position requires knowledge of FQHC billing requirements to prepare, submit, and follow up on insurance claims for Medicare Advantage payers ensuring an efficient revenue cycle.
Key responsibilities include reviewing insurance coverage and patient demographics, submitting and tracking claims in compliance with billing requirements, processing reimbursements, monitoring accounts receivable aging, identifying denial trends, resolving payment credits, maintaining knowledge of billing rules and coding requirements, handling inquiries professionally, coordinating with internal teams for claim issues, maintaining electronic records for audits, and safeguarding patient information per HIPAA guidelines.
- High School Degree or GED required
- Successful completion of in-house training
- Preferred experience with healthcare billing
- Working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance types
- Understanding of medical and billing terminology
- Ability to prioritize in deadline-driven environment
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Proficiency with multiple computer systems including Excel, practice management systems, Microsoft Teams
- Starting pay $21.60/hr with increases based on experience
