Busy surgery specialty office seeking a Medical Billing Specialist. Looking for a mature professional with strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Must be organized, detail oriented, dependable and possess a positive, professional attitude. Must also have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure. Also looking for someone with excellent customer service skills with the ability to work well with the patients and staff.
This position is responsible for performing prior authorizations, billings, posting payments and collections. Handles all patient insurance billing: Medicaid, Medicare, worker’s comp and commercial insurance. Processes EOB’s for all billings noted previously and applies payments to accounts. Works on self-pay accounts – billings, correspondence and collections. Researches all denials and reviews accounts for accuracy and preparation of necessary adjustments. Provider enrollment and group enrollment with private insurance in coordination with the Administrator. Performs other duties as assigned. Familiarity with medical terminology, explanation of benefits, and CPT and ICD-10 a plus. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must have Medical Billing Certification. Prefer minimum one year experience in medical billing and 10-key by touch.
