We are a Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation office seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare administration team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accurate coding, timely submission of claims, and effective follow-up on outstanding accounts. Your expertise will help optimize revenue cycles while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations. Duties include preparing and submitting accurate insurance claims using coding systems such as CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG classifications; reviewing medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding; following up on unpaid or denied claims; maintaining detailed medical billing records within EMR and EHR systems; verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits; collaborating with medical office staff; and staying current with industry updates related to coding changes, billing regulations, and compliance standards.

Experience required includes proven experience in medical billing or medical office administration with strong understanding of coding principles, familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, healthcare billing practices, handling medical collections, and strong attention to detail.

Pay rate: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.

Benefits include 401(k).

This role is in person in Westbury, NY.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in medical billing or medical office administration (preferred minimum 1 year)
  • Strong understanding of medical coding systems (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG)
  • Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare billing practices
  • Experience handling medical collections and resolving billing discrepancies
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to interpret insurance policies and coding guidelines for compliance
