The Medical Biller is responsible for reviewing patient encounters, ensuring billing accuracy, and processing claims for various payer sources. This position plays a critical role in maximizing revenue by adhering to payer guidelines and managing SNF census and monthly invoices to multiple facilities. The Medical Biller collaborates closely with the Billing Manager to address billing discrepancies and manage rebills.
Key responsibilities include preparing and issuing invoices promptly, maintaining accurate billing records, using software to track billing processes, updating patient accounts with insurance details and verification, and ensuring billing accuracy across payer sources including insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.
Ideal candidates will have excellent customer service skills, strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and effective written and verbal communication skills. Experience in medical billing is required (2 years), and medical coding experience (3 years) is preferred. Microsoft Office proficiency (3 years) is also beneficial.
This is a full-time, in-person position located in Van Nuys, CA.
