Northwest Respiratory Services is a leading provider of oxygen & respiratory products throughout the Midwest & Northern Rockies. Based in Eagan, MN, we are looking for a seasoned Billing Specialist responsible for full-cycle billing of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) claims, including claim submission, denial resolution, appeals, and accounts receivable follow-up. This role helps reduce denials, improve cash flow, and ensure compliance with Medicare DMEPOS and payer requirements.
Responsibilities include submitting and monitoring DME claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers; verifying insurance and obtaining authorizations; researching, correcting, and resubmitting denied/rejected claims; conducting accounts receivable follow-ups and payment postings; communicating with payers to resolve issues; ensuring compliance with DMEPOS, HIPAA, and payer rules; maintaining organized records and supporting audits; reporting trends in denials and recommending improvements; preparing appeals within payer deadlines.
1-2 years of full cycle medical billing experience, preferably in DME/HME Knowledge of medical insurance and terminology Strong written and verbal communication skills for contacting insurances, facilities, and patients Participation in individual feedback sessions, staff meetings, and annual training or competency tests
