At Lymphedema Therapy Specialists, Inc. (LTS), the Collections Specialist plays an essential role in supporting the organization's mission to serve patients with compassion, integrity, and excellence. This position focuses on medical collections, providing claims resolution through follow-up on outstanding claims and ensuring accurate and timely processing. Responsibilities include reviewing and monitoring insurance claims, appealing denied claims with proper documentation and coding adjustments, tracking claims and maintaining records in EHR/EMR systems, managing patient payment plans, processing patient payments, and communicating professionally with patients and insurance providers. The role also involves collaborating with administrative and billing staff to resolve discrepancies, identifying trends in denials or delays, assisting with month-end closing and auditing patient accounts, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and other regulations, and participating in team meetings and training.
The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, communication skills, and a commitment to ethical standards. Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), medical collections, and billing processes is preferred. This role emphasizes compassion and alignment with the company’s spiritual mission.

- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 5+ years experience in medical collections or similar healthcare billing/revenue cycle environment preferred
- Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Practice Management software
- Familiarity with insurance verification and billing processes, payer policies, CPT/ICD-10 coding
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
