The Billing Specialist will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of revenue cycle management and medical terminology, as well as proficiency in coding and accounts payable. The Billing Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and enhancing customer satisfaction through effective communication.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process and manage billing transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy, ensuring compliance with GAAP standards.
- Handle accounts payable functions, including tracking payments and resolving discrepancies.
- Utilize ICD-10 coding to ensure proper billing for medical services rendered.
- Communicate effectively with clients via phone to address billing inquiries and provide support.
- Maintain organized records of all billing activities and documentation.
- Collaborate with the finance team to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency.
- Stay updated on changes in revenue cycle management practices and medical terminology.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in billing or related financial services roles.
- Strong knowledge of revenue cycle management principles.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and medical terminology is preferred.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Understanding of accounts payable processes.
- Knowledge of corporate accounting practices is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Occasionally required to lift/push/carry items up to 25lbs
- Sitting/Standing for long periods of time
- Using computer screen for at least 8 hours/daily
