At Falck US, Revenue Cycle Management isn’t just numbers – it’s how we help real people after some of the most stressful moments in their lives. Behind every claim is a patient and a colleague who made that claim possible. In Billing, you make that part of their journey easier – no blood, no needles, just smart, compassionate support.
Our RCM Billing organization is built around three pillars:
- Billing Managers – own performance and people in their markets.
- Billing Specialists – do the day-to-day work on claims.
- Billing Leads – design the way we work: training, tools and processes, so Billing Managers and specialists can win.
As a Billing Lead, you report to the Senior Billing Manager and work across all markets. You don’t manage people – you manage standards, methods and improvements. You partner closely with the three Billing Managers and with the RCM Support & Transformation team (analysts, academy, connectivity, compliance support, master data) to turn problems into better ways of working.
If you enjoy combining deep Billing knowledge with training, tools or process improvement – and you like helping others succeed – one of these roles could be a strong match.
The Billing Lead – Training & Quality makes sure our billers have the skills, standards and support they need to do high-quality, compliant work in a consistent way – from Specialist I to senior level.
You own Billing’s training programs, Billing-specific documentation and the quality/coaching loop. You work closely with the Billing Managers and with the Support & Transformation team’s academy and compliance resources to translate regulations, audit findings and real-world issues into practical training, standards and coaching.
In this role you will:
- Design and maintain Billing training paths
- Build and update structured training for new hires and existing staff – from insurance verification and PCR review to advanced coding and payer-specific rules for 911 and IFT.
- Define what “good” looks like for Billing Specialist I, II and III and support the progression between levels.
- Develop and maintain Billing SOPs, job aids, checklists and reference materials, aligned with the RCM Academy framework owned by the Support & Transformation team.
- Make sure documents are clear, current and reflect system workflows, payer policies and regulations.
- Design and oversee Billing quality reviews: what to sample, how to review and how to record findings.
- Work with Billing Managers and senior billers to turn quality findings into targeted coaching and simple improvement actions.
- Work with the Compliance Officer and academy resources to translate No-Surprises, CMS/Medicare/Medicaid rules and audit results into concrete training, standards and system/flow changes.
- Help with interviews and onboarding for new Billing Specialists.
- Provide train-the-trainer support so senior billers can coach their teams using common standards.
Qualifications:
- Typically 5+ years in Ambulance Billing/RCM or similar, with exposure from basic pre-bill work to more complex coding and compliance topics.
- Have already acted as a trainer, SME or go-to person others ask for help.
- Comfortable leading 1:1, small-group or virtual training and adapting to different learning styles.
- Understand key regulations (No Surprises Act, HIPAA, CMS rules) and basic CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS and modifiers.
- Enjoy building playbooks, checklists and guides that others can follow.
- Like partnering with Billing Managers, Support & Transformation team and Compliance.
