As an Accounts Specialist, AR, you will be responsible for the timely submission of insurance, Medicaid, Medicare, grant, and self-pay claims both electronically and on paper. You will work with insurance carriers to verify claims, maximize collections, and resolve aged accounts, maintain knowledge of claims processing policies, and monitor patient databases for accuracy. You will contribute to a positive patient experience through effective communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate and submit claims accurately and in a timely manner.
• Review remittance advice/EOBs for denied claim adjustments and identify resolutions.
• Perform routine collection calls and follow up on outstanding patient balances.
• Resolve denied or rejected claims, resubmit claims, and file appeals.
• Interact with patients to establish payment plans and ensure compliance.
• Review and post insurance and patient payments.
• Document patient payment agreements accurately.
• Provide positive customer service and explain account activity.
• Demonstrate professionalism when interacting with customers.

Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of medical billing/accounts receivable experience in healthcare.
• Basic knowledge of electronic medical billing and familiarity with EHR systems.
• Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial payer guidelines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize workload.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
• Basic knowledge of ICD, HCPCS, CPT coding, service modifiers, and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of insurance payment regulations and reimbursement schemes.

Working Location: Remote (with an expectation of in-office presence 2 times per week during initial onboarding).
