Atlantic Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a Medical Biller to support billing and revenue cycle operations for a multi-provider orthopaedic practice. Responsibilities include charge entry, claim follow-up, payment posting, patient account support, and serving as backup to Credentialing Specialist. Tasks involve timely and accurate claim submission, daily reconciliation of batches and payments, appeals preparation, patient billing inquiries, payment collection and plans, insurance eligibility verification, and maintaining accurate documentation.
As backup Credentialing Specialist, assist with provider credentialing records, application follow-ups, data maintenance in credentialing systems, tracking license and certification expirations, and ensuring accurate payer demographics.
Candidates should have knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payers, CPT and ICD-10 coding, strong organizational and communication skills, problem-solving ability, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Medical terminology knowledge is required. Preferred experience includes medical billing, coding, accounts receivable, and credentialing. Associate degree or higher preferred with at least 1 year experience.

Knowledge of insurance payers including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans. Familiarity with CPT and ICD-10 coding, including modifiers. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Experience: Experience with medical billing, coding, or accounts receivable. Prior exposure to provider credentialing or enrollment processes. Experience with ModMed EHR is a plus.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or higher in healthcare or business preferred. At least 1 year of medical billing, coding, or accounts receivable experience required. Credentialing experience preferred but not required (training provided).
