We are searching for an experienced Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our Orthopedic Trauma team. The ideal candidate will have outstanding organization and communication skills, and be self-motivated with minimal supervision necessary.
Duties include entering daily charges, collecting copays, deductibles, and coinsurance from patients, answering patient account questions by phone, running accounts receivable reports, following up and appealing claims, and maintaining detail orientation to meet deadlines.
Candidates should communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to work well with all levels of healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or higher
- Ability to read Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and Electronic Remittance Advice (ERA)
- Familiarity with various insurance policies and Workers Compensation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Excellent work ethic and strong team skills
Work schedule is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8 hour shifts, 40 hours per week. Benefits include 401(k), dental, health, life, and vision insurance, and paid time off.
Experience required: 1 year in medical billing and 1 year in medical coding. Spanish language skills preferred.
