This position supports the billing functions to access federal and state Medicaid funds for reimbursement, including coordination of Speech, Occupational Therapy (OT), and Physical Therapy (PT) services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Data entry and clean electronic submission of Medicaid claims for services such as vision, nursing, personal care aides, and administrative coding.
- Maintaining databases and records related to Medicaid billing, including service providers with NPI numbers and licenses.
- Coordinating with therapy groups, district staff, and outside agencies to support Medicaid reimbursement.
- Managing billing and data for Arkansas Medicaid Administrative Claiming (ARMAC) program and High Cost Registry Claims.
- Assisting in federal grant writing and maintaining compliance with funding and billing procedures.
- Participating in trainings and meetings related to Medicaid reimbursement.
The role involves frequent interaction with Special Education coordinators and therapy personnel to ensure compliance and effective billing operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred; or Associate degree in data entry/word processing, or six months of specialized training.
- Expert knowledge of medical billing, specifically Medicaid reimbursement.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, and Google Suite applications.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and coordinate billing processes for multiple therapy-related services.
- Familiarity with federal and state Medicaid funding regulations and procedures.
