As an Insurance Claims Specialist, you will provide exceptional service and support to our dental offices by interpreting insurance plans, analyzing information, and processing claims for resolution and payment.
Responsibilities include:
- Analyze insurance claims and denials; run reports and contact insurance carriers for resolution
- Identify problematic accounts or insurance providers and trends, escalating as appropriate
- Read and interpret insurance policies and benefits accurately
- Collect reimbursement by coding and transmitting patient information, resolving discrepancies, and preparing reports
- Maintain patient account records and document actions taken
- Generate appeals and grievance letters explaining reasons for appeals
- Research and correct coding or clinical issues promptly for maximum reimbursement
- Resolve disputed claims by providing additional necessary information
- Perform complex adjustments to patient accounts and resolve issues
- Follow-up with insurance carriers via phone and web portals
- Cross-train in additional departments such as payment posting or EDI support
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
- Experience with medical or dental billing and accounts receivable preferred
- Knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOB), ADA forms, and insurance billing processes preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and telephone skills
