Perform various systems administration and support tasks including documenting referral status and managing contracts for private facilities, hospice companies, private individuals, and government entities related to home medical equipment. Responsibilities include account follow-up, ensuring compliance with governmental, regulatory and company billing policies including Medicare and Medicaid. Review HCFAS and patient invoices for coding, charges, co-pays, and documentation accuracy. Coordinate patient information and billing paperwork, establish communication with billing/administrative staff at facilities and third-party companies, and manage patient records including equipment rental details. Send and update monthly invoices, work with Collection Specialists on account maintenance, and report issues to management. Position requires handling Protected Health Information (PHI) with strict HIPAA compliance.
High School Diploma or equivalent required. One to two years experience with Durable Medical Equipment company or relevant medical office preferred. Skills in filing, contracting, record maintenance, billing requirements, typing, and telemarketing. Basic knowledge of medical insurance benefits, CPT, HCPCS & ICD10 codes, HCFA 1500, UB04 claim forms, HIPAA, medical terminology, insurance benefits, and regulations including Medicare and Medicaid. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication skills with physicians, patients, insurers, colleagues, and staff. Ability to read and understand medical documentation effectively. Work schedule mainly Monday through Friday with possible weekend or on-call shifts.

Knowledge of medical billing codes (CPT, HCPCS, ICD10), claim forms (HCFA 1500, UB04), HIPAA, and insurance benefits. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel). Good communication and telemarketing skills. Ability to read and understand medical documentation. Understanding of medical insurance regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid. Ability to maintain confidential PHI in compliance with HIPAA. Must work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM; possible weekend or on-call shifts.
