Medicaid Billing Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medicaid Billing Specialist to join our dynamic healthcare finance team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing the accurate and timely submission of Medicaid claims, ensuring compliance with all billing regulations, and optimizing reimbursement processes. Your expertise will help streamline medical billing operations, improve revenue cycle management, and support the delivery of quality healthcare services.

Responsibilities include preparing and submitting Medicaid claims using EMR/EHR systems, reviewing medical records and nursing notes to verify coding accuracy with DRG, CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10 codes, applying medical coding knowledge, monitoring claim status and following up on unpaid or denied claims, maintaining detailed billing records, staying current with Medicaid policies and coding updates, and collaborating with medical office staff to resolve billing discrepancies and enhance revenue cycle efficiency.

Experience required includes proven experience in medical billing or coding within healthcare settings, preferably with Medicaid or government insurance programs. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, records management, billing procedures, familiarity with DRG classifications, CPT, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, medical collections processes, experience working with EMR/EHR systems, excellent attention to detail, and effective communication skills are essential.

This role is part-time, onsite in Kennesaw, GA, and offers a pay rate of $25.00 - $27.00 per hour along with 401(k) benefits.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in medical billing or coding within healthcare, preferably with Medicaid or government insurance programs
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and billing procedures
  • Familiarity with DRG, CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems
  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems for claims processing
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex medical data
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with healthcare providers, payers, and patients
