We are a busy, fast paced, privately owned Optical practice that strives to provide excellent patient care.
We are currently looking to hire a full-time Billing Assistant. We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized person to join our practice and help ensure smooth and accurate claims processing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter, submit and follow up on insurance claims (vision and medical)
- Post insurance payments and reconcile accounts
- Review and correct claim denials or rejections
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues
- Assist patients with billing questions and account balances
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies, coding and billing procedures
Other Responsibilities May Include:
- Verifying patient insurance benefits and eligibility prior to appointments
- Helping at the front desk to Check In/Check Out patients at their appointments
- Assist with answering the phone to help patients, reschedule patients and schedule patient appointments
- Other basic office tasks such as copying, faxing, scanning, etc.
- Cross train to help assist in other areas of the office as needed
Experience preferred but not required.
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
- Office: 1 year (Preferred)
