Outpatient Risk Adjustment Coder IHCI

Community Health Network, in partnership with Deaconess Health System through the Innovative Healthcare Collaborative of Indiana LLC (IHCI), is seeking an Outpatient Risk Adjustment Coder reporting to the Clinical Documentation Integrity Manager. The role involves performing patient chart reviews to ensure the appropriateness and completeness of diagnostic coding based on CMS HCC standards. Responsibilities include timely and accurate review of patient charts, validating diagnosis codes with necessary MEAT documentation, ensuring coding complies with regulatory guidelines, conducting audits for ACA compliance, creating post-visit queries, collaborating with the Clinical Documentation Improvement team, and contributing to provider education.

This is a remote position available for caregivers living in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Florida, and Texas, with a relocation requirement within 60 days if hired from other states.

Work schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, based out of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of professional outpatient Risk Adjustment (HCC) coding experience required
  • Preferred 3 or more years experience in population health, value-based care (VBC)/ACO, and outpatient coding
  • Must obtain one of the following certifications within 6 months of hire: CPC, CPC-H, CPC-I, CPC-A, CCSP, CCS, or Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC) through AAPC and/or AHIMA
  • Strong collaboration, communication skills, and positive attitude toward problem-solving
  • Critical thinking skills essential
