The position offers a clear Billing growth journey:
- Billing Specialist I – Learn (Verification / Coding / Processing)
- Billing Specialist II – Perform (One Biller)
- Billing Specialist III – Advanced One Biller
- Billing Auditor – Improve & Educate (and still help in production)
As a Billing Specialist I, you will start by owning one part of the Billing process in one of three areas:
- Verification – checking insurance and basic patient/contract data.
- Coding support – supporting the coding step with accurate data and documentation checks.
- Processing – supporting claim creation and submission steps.
No previous billing experience is required; training will be provided. The role requires attention to detail, basic computer skills and a strong desire to learn and grow in the healthcare system. Strong performers are expected to progress to more advanced billing roles.
Essential Functions include working on defined billing steps using clear SOPs and checklists, reviewing data for accuracy, completing daily tasks timely, escalating complex cases, and participating in training and coaching.
Qualifications include a desire to work in healthcare without direct clinical work, strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, clear communication, reliability, and organizational skills.
Working conditions involve office or shared workspace, varied shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Physical requirements include ability to sit and use computer for long periods, handle objects, and lift up to 25 lbs.
