Responsibilities:
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies
- Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
- Review and appeal denied or unpaid claims
- Utilize coding systems for accurate billing
- Collaborate with medical coders to ensure proper coding of services
- Maintain patient billing records and update as necessary
- Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable
- Communicate with patients regarding billing inquiries and payment options
- Work closely with the medical office staff to resolve billing issues
