Billing Manager

Falck Revenue Cycle Management

At Falck US, Revenue Cycle Management isn’t just numbers – it’s how we help real people after some of the most stressful moments in their lives. Behind every claim is a patient and a family who trusted us in an emergency.

In RCM Billing, you make that part of their journey easier – no blood, no needles, just smart, compassionate support.

You’ll be part of a growing RCM hub in Mesa, where we bring together people, data and technology to run billing in a smarter, more consistent way – with clear roles, clear expectations and clear career paths.

If you want to lead a team, grow fast, and help patients by making the billing process work right the first time, this role is for you.

The Billing Manager leads the billing function for an assigned set of markets and contracts (911 and/or IFT), ensuring accurate, timely and compliant claim creation, coding and submission. You are accountable for the billing-side drivers of revenue, cash flow and cost efficiency in your markets – clean data, correct coding, complete services and well-prioritized claim production.

You lead through others: developing a team of billing specialists (around 20 people), building winning behaviors, and creating a culture of proactive improvement rather than reactive firefighting. By organizing work smartly, using data and technology, and collaborating with Operations, Insurance Relations, Patient Experience, and Support & Transformation, you help deliver First Pass Accuracy, Maximum Efficiency in Billing and a better experience for patients.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead and grow a high-performing hybrid team of billing specialists to meet agreed performance and quality targets.
  • Set clear expectations, give frequent feedback, and coach team members into strong subject-matter specialists.
  • Build a culture where people own their results, help each other, and are open to learning new tools and ways of working.
  • Oversee daily billing operations including eligibility checks, documentation review, coding, and claim submission.
  • Plan staffing, queues and workflows to process claims accurately, on time and cost-efficiently.
  • Monitor key metrics (backlog, turnaround time, productivity, quality) and intervene when performance drifts.
  • Identify bottlenecks and waste to implement continuous improvement.
  • Partner with Billing Leads and Support & Transformation teams to standardize best practices and leverage automation.
  • Maintain "daily clean desk" discipline using data and dashboards to prevent backlogs.
  • Improve billing-side revenue and cash flow by ensuring clean claims, complete capture of billable services, coding quality, and proper insurance discovery.
  • Collaborate with Insurance Relations and Patient Experience to reduce denials and underpayments, improving patient billing communication.
  • Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, CMS, medical necessity, ICD-10/ICD-9, payer rules, and Falck standards.
  • Act as part of the Billing leadership team, sharing knowledge and supporting colleagues.
  • Establish, monitor and report KPIs to guide priorities and decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Revenue Cycle Management, medical billing, healthcare operations or similar.
  • Leadership experience as a manager or strong informal lead.
  • Comfortable with billing platforms (e.g., Logis) and payer portals.

This position is full-time located in Mesa, Arizona and does not specify remote working.
