Under general supervision of the CFO, Senior Director of Business Office, and Director of Revenue Cycle Management, the Patient Account Representative may participate in any or all aspects of the patient accounts and receivable functions of the organization including billing, charge entry, collection, payment posting and credit balance resolution. They may reconcile daily reports, balance monthly transactions and provide summaries to finance department and administration.
Duties include tracking claims or charges, monitoring third-party payers, informing billing Supervisor/CFO of insurance issues, updating patient accounts, contacting payers for claim status, ensuring physician billing meets requirements, resubmitting claims and handling appeals/denials using knowledge of Commercial/Government insurance.
Position Qualifications:
Two years of paid Medical Billing/Collections experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience with billing/claim submission and revenue cycle collections and knowledge of patient accounting and business office procedures is required. Excellent mathematical, written, and verbal communication skills are necessary.
