The Billing Specialist is responsible for maximizing third-party billing revenue by identifying and utilizing all available payment resources for Medicare, Medicaid, HMOs, insurance, etc. This role ensures accurate and timely revenue processes through daily entry of charges, payments and write-offs. The Billing Specialist collaborates with clinical, registration, coding, and finance teams to resolve billing issues, streamline workflows, and reduce claim rejections and denials.
Responsibilities include administering third-party billing programs for medical, behavioral health, and dental clinics, advocating for revenue maximization, posting payments and adjustments accurately, resolving claim denials, managing Electronic Health Records (EHR) work queues daily, conducting follow-ups on claims, performing audits for compliance and accuracy, preparing billing and financial reports, collaborating with clinical staff to improve billing processes, participating in compliance workgroups, and ensuring continuity of billing functions during emergencies.
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum 3 years of experience with third-party billing using current billing standards (ICD-10 codes)
- At least 2 years experience working with Electronic Health Records (EHR), EPIC preferred
- Certificate in billing required
- Prefer experience working with American Indian/Alaska Native communities
Work Location: On-site in Oakville, WA
Pay Range: $27.67 - $38.75 per hour (equivalent to $57,500 - $80,700 annually)
