Hospice Billing Specialist

Amenity Health Care Hospice and Palliative care is seeking a Hospice Billing and Claims Specialist in Addison, IL. Responsibilities include collecting and entering claim information, resubmission and reprocessing of denied/rejected insurance claims, sending corrected insurance claims, tracking insurance aging AR and follow-up on claims over 30 days, contacting patients for claims denial due to coverage issues, obtaining authorizations and referrals, taking payment over the phone, and documenting patient insurance communications.

Candidates should have knowledge of billing and collection practices, be results-oriented, able to multitask effectively, work independently and as part of a team, possess strong analytical skills, excellent oral/written/interpersonal communication skills, and previous medical billing experience with payers such as Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and worker's compensation. Knowledge of the appeals process is required. One year of hospice medical billing experience is preferred.
