Billing Specialist

Polaris Pharmacy Services

At Polaris Pharmacy Services, we partner in care to improve patient outcomes across long-term, post-acute, correctional, PACE, and specialty pharmacy services. As a Billing Specialist, you will handle billing for Nursing Homes, Assisted Living Facilities, Group Homes, and Private Pay statements. Responsibilities include processing third-party billing, claim resolution, managing FFS and PPS billing, census balancing, verifying insurance and Medicaid coverage, and assisting with customer billing inquiries. You will prepare reports, statements, and summaries, while ensuring compliance with regulations including HIPAA.

Work shifts include 9am-5pm, 10am-6pm, or 12pm-8pm.

Required skills:

  • English proficiency
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Basic computer and math skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Detail oriented and reliable
  • Adaptability to changing environment

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years pharmacy billing experience (long-term care preferred)
  • Experience with Framework LTC, Sage preferred

Physical demands include sitting or standing 7-10 hours per day, occasional stooping or bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of pharmacy billing experience, preferably in long-term care
  • Proficiency with Framework LTC and Microsoft Office suite
  • Familiarity with Sage accounting software preferred
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work varying shifts and adapt to changing environments
  • Compliance with HIPAA and government regulations
