Position: Orthopedic Billing Specialist

This role starts with an hourly wage of $23.50 to $27.00, depending on experience.

Employees also enjoy a Quarterly Incentive Bonus.

Essential duties include preparing and submitting billing data and medical claims to insurance companies; ensuring patient medical information accuracy; preparing bills and invoices; collecting and reviewing referrals and pre-authorizations; monitoring payments; following up on missed payments; verifying patient bills and requesting missing info; investigating and appealing denied claims; and assisting patients with payment plans.

Skills and qualifications:

Minimum Associate's Degree in a related field
Prior billing and administrative experience in a healthcare setting, specifically orthopedic required
Excellent computer skills
Attention to detail
Proactive and positive approach
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Customer service experience preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, diagnostic procedures, healthcare billing (in-network and out-of-network), and authorizations
Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, flexible
Strong problem-solving, prioritization, communication abilities
Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements
