Accounts Receivable Insurance Follow-Up Specialist

Superior Air-Ground Ambulance

Superior Ambulance Service is a large EMS provider serving Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Wisconsin with EMTs, Paramedics, Nurses, and emergency transport.

The Accounts Receivable team focuses on reimbursement collections by resolving denials and delinquent accounts through calls and online tools.

This role handles insurance and patient follow-up for open accounts to maximize cash collection, including resolving denials, appealing claims, and working with payers and clients.

The position requires in-office attendance Monday-Friday in Elmhurst, IL with possible mandatory overtime.

Daily duties include resolving denials within 72 hours, addressing unpaid claims over 60 days, reviewing worked claims monthly, documenting work productivity, and managing 64 to 80 accounts daily.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college preferred
  • 1-2 years revenue cycle collections experience; EMS experience preferred
  • Knowledge of CPT, ICD-9/10, HCPCS codes
  • Understanding of government and commercial payer rules
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to multitask and learn new skills
