The Billing and Financial Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing and coordinating daily financial reconciliation procedures to ensure proper patient financial services, collection of payments, and input into process improvement.
Responsibilities include collecting and posting payments such as copays and outstanding balances, performing patient financial counseling, establishing patient payment plans, preparing daily statements for patient collections, monitoring payment plan agreements, posting and reconciling daily patient payments using practice management and EMR systems, and providing excellent communication and customer service.
The role involves knowledge of insurance verification, eligibility, prior authorization and appeals processes. The coordinator collaborates with other departments to assist in obtaining authorizations, proactively manages expiring prior authorizations, researches and verifies patient demographic and insurance information, determines patient financial responsibility, and assists with patient communications regarding coverage denials or required forms.
The position is based at Beverly Hills Cancer Center, a private comprehensive cancer treatment facility in Los Angeles providing cutting-edge cancer care including radiation oncology, infusion therapy, diagnostic imaging, laboratory services, and leading clinical trials.

High school diploma required; Associate or Bachelor's degree highly preferred. Minimum of two years of patient front office and/or billing experience with knowledge of insurance verification and authorization processes. Familiarity with medical authorization processes across various insurance types, including portal access. At least one year of patient financial counseling experience. Preferred experience in Oncology and/or Imaging settings. Excellent computer skills with EMR knowledge.
