Certified EPIC Professional Billing Analyst

The State of North Carolina Dept. of Health and Human Services is seeking a Certified EPIC Professional Billing Analyst to assist with the Epic EHR Implementation. This 6+ month contractor role involves analyzing, documenting, and communicating business requirements for new system functionalities and enhancements. Responsibilities include testing system changes, acting as primary support for end-users, guiding workflow design and builds, troubleshooting technical issues, and working with Epic representatives and end users to ensure the system meets business needs.

The role requires a strong understanding of revenue cycle billing, hospital and professional billing, claims processing operations, and related workflows. It demands excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively under tight project deadlines. The analyst will engage with third-party vendors and support knowledge sharing among the NCDHHS analyst team.

Essential working conditions include occasional after-hours or weekend work and infrequent travel. Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive revenue cycle/healthcare experience with demonstrated experience in Epic Professional Billing (PB) build
  • Must have strong leadership and communication skills
  • Experience working with Epic Professional Billing; Epic certification in Resolute PB required
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle billing, professional billing, claims processing operations and workflows
  • Ability to work in small groups under tight project deadlines
  • Experience collaborating with business and revenue cycle leaders and translating business needs to Epic billing functionality
  • Familiarity with third-party vendors such as Experian and Relay Health
  • Knowledge of relevant privacy regulations including The Privacy Act, Freedom of Information Act, and HIPAA
  • Bachelor's degree or 5 years' experience in a directly related field
  • Must pass general background check and pre-employment drug test
